What we collect

When you use the app we collect the photos and text you choose to share, basic account details, and standard device and usage information that helps events work reliably. Viewing a public event requires no account, during the event or after it ends. Neither does watching a live private event its host has opened to viewers. Looking back at a private event after it ends, or opening one that needs an invite code, requires signing in.

How we use it

Your information is used to deliver photos to the right events in real time, keep your account secure, and improve the app. We do not sell your personal data.

Public and private events

An event is either public or private, and its host chooses which when creating it. A public event can be viewed by anyone, without an invite code. It is listed: it can appear in search in the mobile app and in the lists of events on the SnapReplay home page, and its newest photos can appear on the home page. A private event is never listed, whatever its settings are - it is reached by its code, link, or QR. A host can upgrade a public event to private, and it then leaves the listings. A private event cannot be made public. We can remove an event from the listings. Event pages ask search engines not to index them. A host can hide an event's location, which is then shown only to the host and to people who have joined.

Photos you share

Photos and text you add to an event are seen by whoever can view it. On a public event that is anyone, and the host chooses whether anyone can join and add to it. On a private event the host decides whether anyone who opens it can view, or only the people they invited, and can change that at any time. After a private event ends, its album can only be opened by people who are signed in; a public event's album stays open to anyone. Anyone signed in who can view an event can report a post. A report hides the post for the person who reported it and marks it for the host, who keeps or removes it, and a reported photo does not appear on the home page while the report is open. You can remove what you've contributed at any time, and the host can remove anything posted to their event.

Your approximate location

To show public events near you on the home page, we estimate your city from your IP address. The estimate is used only to pick those events and is not saved. We never ask your device for its location on the website. IP Geolocation by DB-IP.

Sharing with others

We only share data with service providers who help us operate SnapReplay (such as hosting and analytics), and when required by law. These providers are bound to protect your information.

Your choices

You can access, correct, or delete your account data, and control notification and visibility settings from within the app. Reach out any time and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app before the changes take effect.
